A Jamboree is a large gathering of Scouts who rally at a national or international level.
The 21st NZ Scout Jamboree will take place in 2016-17.
Jamboree happens every 3 years and most Scouts only get to one as a "Scout". This is why we say Jamborees happen "Once in a Scout Time".
For most Scouts Jamboree will be the highlight of their time in Scouts. Many may later attend as a Venturer or Rover as “YST” – Youth Staff Team (these are young staff members at Jamboree) or as Leaders but will all hold very special memories of their Jamboree as a Scout.
As they are released we will list known activities at Jamboree
The starter list covers activities we always have:
Challenge Valley (Goes by a different name each Jamboree) But getting down and dirty through a challenging obstacle course with the help of your mates is the key. Don't wear any good clothes here as we suggest they go in the bin afterwards.
Badgers Club (one of many quieter activities) a place to swap badges and find out a little more about swapping. You can swap anywhere with anyone of course but this give this activity some extra focus. Trade Fair - 1 badge for 1 badge.
International Base (The home for our International Guests and a place you can find out a bit more from our International Guests)
Abseiling - If you haven't done this before the Jamboree abseiling towers and team are there to help. Fantastic challenging FUN. Even if you are an expert, they will find a challenge for you.
